He is also a Co-founder of the Sustainable Ocean Alliance Hub in Zanzibar and outreach programs for early career researchers in the Western Indian Ocean (WIO) Region. As a marine ecologist, Frank specializes in the ecology, management, and conservation of threatened and endangered marine megafauna, including sea turtles, dolphins, and sharks. In addition to his academic work, Frank is actively involved in climate dialogues on loss and damage in Africa and is committed to raising awareness about the impact of deep-sea mining in Africa. He engages in ocean literacy programs for secondary school students in WIO and is a marine blogger, ocean science communicator, storyteller, and ethical dolphin trainer.  Frank is a passionate advocate for early-career ocean professionals (ECOPs), using his platform to champion capacity building, youth inclusion, and equal opportunities for people of color and less-represented groups in the protection of our oceans. He strives to be a voice, not an echo, in the fight for a more sustainable and inclusive future for youth in Ocean Sciences.
