Raudhat Nassor Suleiman
Project Coordinator - Zanzibar
Raudhat Nassor Suleiman is a marine scientist residing in Zanzibar, with a strong academic foundation from the University of Dar es Salaam, where she earned her bachelor of science in Marine science. Throughout her study and professional experience, Raudhat has developed a deep understanding of marine ecosystems and sustainable resource management. She is passionate about contributing to the sustainable development of coastal communities and the broader marine environment in Tanzania. Raudhat academic journey has allowed her to gain valuable expertise in various fields of marine science including marine ecology, fisheries management, climate change resilience, and environmental conservation. Her research interests are particularly focused on addressing the challenge faced by coastal communities that rely heavily on marine resources for their livelihoods. Her degree research is “Assessment of post-harvest losses in seaweed production”. Highlight her commitment to understanding and addressing key issues in marine-based industries. Beyond seaweed farming, Raudhat is also deeply interested in the broader aspect of the blue economy. As a marine scientist, she recognizes the potential for fisheries management, coastal ecosystem restoration, marine biodiversity and conservation to drive economic growth in Zanzibar and Tanzania as a whole. In addition to her academic and professional accomplishments, Raudhat is an active volunteer with the Jane Goodall Institute, where she has been recognized for her contribution to environmental conservation, animal welfare and community development. Her work with the Institute earned her a certificate of Appreciation and she has been actively involved in campaigns promoting environmental awareness wildlife conservation, and sustainable development.
